Jerry's Philosophy
“When you begin to recognize the patterns that trip you up, and understand the beliefs and emotions behind them, your life begins to change.”
Why This Matters
Jerry's philosophy is rooted in helping adults uncover the strengths they already possess. Through evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, sessions focus on understanding patterns, building practical skills, and moving toward lasting change — with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

A little about me
Hey — I'm Jerry. I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and CBT-certified therapist who has spent more than a decade walking alongside adults through anxiety, depression, anger, social anxiety, relationship wounds, and major life transitions.
Outside of my private practice, I also serve as a High School Counselor — work that keeps me grounded in real-life stress, identity questions, and the pressure to perform. My clinical practice is separate and focused entirely on adults across California who want thoughtful, research-based CBT in a calm online setting.
I became a therapist because healing changed my life — and I believe growth and purpose are possible even when you feel stuck. CBT is not "just think positive." It's about understanding the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, then building practical tools that actually stick.

Why I Became a Therapist
Therapy is one of the most powerful instruments of healing I know — and also one of the clearest paths toward growth and purpose. I watched people close to me struggle in silence, and I saw what changed when someone finally had a safe place to be honest, be challenged, and be supported with real tools.
Healing • Growth • Purpose
The heart of my work
Healing
Making space for what hurts — anxiety, depression, trauma, anger — without rushing you past it. CBT helps you understand what keeps old wounds active so you can move forward with steadier ground beneath you.
Growth
Building skills that last: noticing unhelpful thought patterns, tolerating discomfort, communicating clearly, and choosing behaviors aligned with the life you want — not the life fear has been writing for you.
Purpose
Reconnecting with meaning when you feel stuck or directionless. Therapy is not only about reducing symptoms — it is about helping you live with clarity, confidence, and intention.
My Approach to Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy maps the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors — then gives you practical tools to change patterns that no longer serve you.
Thoughts
I help you identify automatic thoughts, core beliefs, and cognitive distortions that fuel anxiety, anger, or low mood — then practice challenging them with evidence, not empty positivity.
Feelings
Emotions carry information. CBT helps you name what you feel, understand what it is pointing to, and respond rather than react when intensity shows up.
Behaviors
Lasting change happens through action — exposure, behavioral experiments, communication practice, and between-session skills that translate insight into daily life.

Professional Background
I have years of experience supporting students as a High School Counselor — guiding young people through academic pressure, identity, family stress, and mental health challenges. In my private practice, I focus exclusively on adults throughout California via secure telehealth.
Two roles, one through-line: helping people feel seen, build skills, and move toward a life that fits who they are becoming.
